Nicola Toon

 

I am a environmentally concious Freelance Illustrator, Surface Designer and Maker based in Leeds and Derbyshire in the United Kingdom, currently studying Visual Communication at Leeds College of Art. I work with a variety of different mediums and techniques fusing traditional mediums with digital media.

I strongly believe in doing all that we can, within our capabilities, to help promote environmental issues. This is a key factor in the materials I use and where I source them from. Recycled and recyclable materials formulate a small yet crucial step towards reducing our waste and consumption of non-renewable resources.

I'm inspired by history, culture, flora and fauna and traditions and try to bring these together in my work. 

Through my practice I hope to inspire people to be more loving of the world, of each other, life and of nature.
